Beginning January 2027, 91������Ƶ will no longer support the following vendors via payroll deduction for the Voluntary 403(b):

• American Funds
• Vanguard
• VOYA

If you have an active account with American Funds, Vanguard, or VOYA, you will need to select either TIAA or Fidelity for all contributions after the calendar year 2026. If you do not select a new vendor by December 22, 2026, your voluntary 403(b) will default to TIAA. Please review this communication for next steps.

Nothing. You may leave your funds with your current vendor. This change affects prospective contributions only. This change will not move any funds from your current vendor unless you make an active election to do so. Please reach out to your current fund sponsor to discuss your options. 

If you do not submit a form by December 22, 2026, we will default your Voluntary 403(b) to TIAA. We will not make changes to your current biweekly or annual goal contributions with this change.

Dedicated support for employees
TIAA and Fidelity provide dedicated account representatives who provide regular virtual and in-person support to employees to discuss individual retirement needs.

Improved employee experience
TIAA and Fidelity provide 91������Ƶ HR with dedicated account representatives to help manage the overall plan, ensure timely deposits, quickly identify and respond to issues, and provide ongoing support. By consolidating our voluntary 403(b) accounts, we remove manual processes in HR to allow us to focus on ongoing improvements and updates to our retirement plans overall. 

Low Participation
The affected vendors have historically low participation. There are under 100 employees currently enrolled across all three vendors combined.

TIAA and Fidelity will be on campus multiple times this fall to provide support to you. Please make an appointment with a representative to discuss your options. All dates, times, and instructions on how to sign up can be found in our news article.

[Required] Update beneficiaries
Your current beneficiaries will not transfer to TIAA or Fidelity. You will need to set up new beneficiaries with TIAA or Fidelity. Once your initial contribution is deposited, update your beneficiaries with your new vendor:

TIAA

• Click "Log in" in the upper right corner
• Click on "Profile" in the top right
• Click "Manage Beneficiaries"
• Click on the "Manage" drop down menu to add a beneficiary, change allocations, copy allocations, or to remove a beneficiary
  

Fidelity

• Click “Log in” in the upper right corner
• After logging in, select the "Profile" icon
• Select the "Beneficiaries" link
• Follow the instructions
  

Remember: If you leave funds with your previous provider, you should confirm/update the beneficiaries on that account, too.

[Recommended] Decide what you are going to do with the account balance at your previous vendor

This change only affects prospective contributions. It does not affect funds already deposited into your voluntary 403(b). All existing balances with your affected vendors can and will stay where they are unless you make an active election to move them to TIAA or Fidelity. You may choose to consolidate your accounts to one vendor or you may choose to leave contributions with your previous vendor.

[Recommended] Attend a virtual or in-person meeting with a TIAA or Fidelity representative at your campus.

If no election is made by the December 22nd deadline, your funds will automatically be directed to TIAA in pay run 01 (December 13 - December 26, pays on January 8, 2027).

In preparation, a detailed Transition Guide will be sent from TIAA electronically to 91������Ƶ email addresses on November 9, 2026. The guide will walk you through everything you need to know about the plans at TIAA, including available investment options and helpful resources to make the best choice for your future. 

This guide will be provided to both employees who elected TIAA as their new vendor and to employees who have not yet made an election. If you receive this Transition Guide, and you do not want to elect TIAA as your vendor, you can update your vendor to Fidelity by completing a .

Loans and hardship distributions are allowed on the voluntary 403(b) only. Starting in January, 2027, in order to request a loan or hardship distribution, the requested funds must be in either TIAA or Fidelity. You may rollover any funds from a previous vendor to either TIAA or Fidelity to place your loan or hardship distribution request.
