New leadership appointments in administrative services at 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵA

Beverly C. Shuford, Ph.D., C.P.A., vice chancellor for administrative services, at the University of Alaska Anchorage, announced new leadership appointments in administrative services.

Brian deZeeuw has been named director of financial services. He has more than 23 years of service at 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵA, and brings expertise to this role, serving as interim director of financial services since November 2018. deZeeuw's role includes oversight of 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵA accounting services (student accounts and refunds, cashiering, collections, and payment plan and student account center), accounts payable, travel, Banner finance training, and the WOLFcard office.

Kelly Thorngren, budget director, has announced her upcoming retirement on April 30. With 23 years at 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵA, she has provided leadership for our 91ÇÑ×ÓÊÓƵA budget through many changes. Ryan Buchholdt, currently the facilities and campus services deputy director/chief of staff, has accepted the interim budget director position.
